Question: How Much Does College Cost?

Kevin's Answer: The costs* to attend college depend on the state where you live (USA) and if you prefer attending a private college or public college.

The state you currently live in is very important when it comes to attending a public college and it may not be as important if you select a private college.

If you decide to attend college in the state where you currently live, you will most likely pay less than a student from another state.

In other words, if you live in Texas now and you enroll in a public college in California, your school tuition costs will be higher than a California resident’s tuition costs.

An Affordable Local College

Here are the estimated college costs for attending one of the least expensive colleges for one year in the state where you live.

Your college’s tuition costs will be around $3,500.00 per year. This is the estimated cost for your classes for two semesters not including summer sessions.

You will also have to live someplace while attending each semester. It is easiest to live on-campus because it forces you to travel light. No need to build up lots of personal furniture and other items by living in an apartment off-campus.

Your room and board are estimated to cost you around $10,000.00 each year. I have included an estimated cost for your meals. You should eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. It is too hard to study when you are hungry.

In addition, you will need books and other little items. Your estimated costs for books, supplies, and other fees are around $2,000.00.

An Expensive Private University

Here are the estimated college costs for attending one of the most expensive colleges for one year somewhere in the United States of America.

Your college’s tuition costs will be around $48,000.00 per year. This is the estimated cost for your classes for two semesters not including summer sessions.

Your room and board are estimated to cost you around $15,000.00 each year. Your estimated costs for books, supplies, and other fees are around $3,500.00.
